Fall in Love with Tulips
Late winter days seem to yearn for Spring. The flower shops are full of stunning red Valentine's Day flowers this month. I am drawn to the soft pink blooms so these tulips found their way home to our table. As the days passed, the paper-thin flowers dried to reveal beautiful strands of deep magenta resembling sewing thread. Check out the delicate macro shots below. A Valentine for my Boy
Valentine's Day often gets a girlie rap with all the pink and glitter everywhere. When our son was little, I used to embroider dinosaurs or flying saucers with hearts on shirts for him to wear to his school's Valentine's Day parties. One year I set up a photo booth backdrop with diecut heart garlands from my studio and photographed all of his classmates with handmade mustache and lips photo props.
